The sessions are for adults with their children who are 5-7 years old, and will run from 25th February until 31st March, 10-11.30am in South Park Gardens Pavilion.
In these sessions we will create stories together using a variety of play-based writing, drawing and story-telling tasks. These will take place in the Pavilion and in the park too. Each week we will collaboratively create pages for the zine that we will self-publish at the end of the sessions.
The aims of the sessions is to bring embodied joy and connectivity into the writing process. We do this by using task-based structures for writing in community. Structures that say ‘yes’ to collective, embodied creativity, that give children and adults confidence in their creativity and ability to connect with others creatively. I have developed these embodied processes of writing in community over many years working in hospitals, schools, galleries and community settings.
